Features
- Ignition Controlled: VTU is only powered while vehicle is on
sparing the vehicle battery from unnecessary power drain
- Vehicle Status: VTU reports when vehicle is started, parked
(ignition off), stopped, or in transit
- Vehicle Data: VTU reports time, date, position, speed and heading
- Real-Time Tracking: VTU can provide updates as fast as 30 seconds
or as slow as you wish depending on the data limits of your CDPD
plan
- Store and Forward: VTU will store data if CDPD coverage is lost
and forward all stored data once coverage has resumed
- Crash box data recorder: 10 minutes of vehicle data is stored
at 2 second intervals and can be extracted by Insight USA providing
useful data in case of an accident
- Serial Port: for use with external devices so data can be sent
in any manner you wish
- Discrete Inputs: 3 Discrete Inputs can be used to monitor any
combination of:
- PTO on/off
- Panic Button
- Lights/Siren on/off
- Doors open/closed
- Lift up/down
- etc.
